Episode 1: The Creation of the Podcast

In the craziness of everyday life, how often do people stop to share their deepest thoughts, values, and wisdom with the ones who matter most? For one parent, this question sparked the creation of Message for My Kids, a podcast dedicated to capturing heartfelt messages and lifelong lessons for their children, and for anyone else seeking inspiration, motivation, and parenting tips.

The Spark Behind the Podcast

In the first episode of Message for My Kids, the host shares why this podcast came to life. It began with a simple thought: What legacy of wisdom and love could they leave for their children? Thinking about their life experiences and lessons they wish they had learned sooner, the host realized that recording these messages wasn’t just a gift for their kids but for anyone looking for advice and inspiration.

Parenting is a journey filled with highs and lows, but it’s also full of teachable moments. This podcast offers something timeless—something his children can always listen to, no matter where life takes them. Along the way, it offers meaningful insights to other parents navigating their own challenges and circumstances.

What Listeners Will Find in Each Episode

Welcome, everybody.
Welcome to my new podcast.
I finally, finally jumped over the ledge.
I finally did it.
And I did not think that I would ever make a podcast, but I needed a true reason to make a podcast.
And I think I found the true reason, and it comes with the title of Message for My Kids.

So what the podcast is going to be about are messages that I can deliver to my kids.
So hopefully someday, either after I pass or before I pass away, my kids are able to download these episodes so they have the insights of why we are here as parents.
And I have five little ones, and they are growing super fast.

At first, I tried making a home business where I could possibly pass down to the kids, but that's not gonna work out from reality hitting.
And I was already starting a book, and then I started realizing, well, how are the kids gonna actually make copies of the book and then disperse it to each other?
So this will actually make things easier for the kids, I think.
And they're not gonna know about it.

Sorry kids, you're not gonna know about this Message for My Kids anytime soon.
I'll figure out a way how to deliver you guys these podcasts.
I don't know.
And I haven't thought that far yet, cause I don't plan on leaving Earth just yet.

But hey, I'm excited.
This is a Message for My Kids.
And I finally did it.
And basically what it's about, what it’s going to be about are life lessons, as a parent, we learn.
We learn things, and we wish we did or did continue doing or didn't do anymore or didn't do at all.

From interest, from investing, to spending time with kids, with our own kids, and possibly other kids depending on the family, how it is.
And relationships, do's and don'ts.
And why we do stuff.
Why we do stuff as parents, especially on things that we think are right and they aren't right.

So this is the intro to Message for My Kids, and I'm excited.
And someday, someday you guys will hear my voice, and hopefully just take my advice on some things that you knit and pick and what you can use.
And the other stuff you don't have to listen to.
You can just blow it off, which is fine, because my advice may not even work.

I mean, I can't take all my parents' advice, my mom and dad's advice, because they lived in a different time, and things worked for them that doesn't work for me.
But there's things that I take from my parents, and one advice always comes to mind.
Is when your grandpa, my dad, he would tell me, he says, "You never drink on the night prior to something that you have to do the next day."

And I didn’t learn that until I think he probably seen that I was turning into somebody who liked drinking throughout the week.
So I took that advice, and it really works, because I wake up tired but still willing to do stuff, rather than tired and with a hangover.

And there's stories. We have a lot of stories.
There's a lot of stories to go over and why we do stuff and why we plan to do things the way we plan to do things.
And they're with reason of thinking that we know what we're doing.
But some things worked, and some things we can see that they don't work.

And I don't mean to put you guys on the spot, but this is something for you guys.
And this is the best way I think it can be done.
So I think a podcast would be actually perfect for you guys.

This is great.
This is awesome.
And I hope it just snowballs off into something.

(podcast host’s daughter enters room, host talks to his daughter for a few seconds)

And right now you guys are at school.
And this little ones playing in the toy area, and these are real things, girls and son.
And I'm not gonna fib on this, I'm not gonna lie.
I am hoping that this gets to you somehow, some way, and it benefits you in your future.

And if others are listening, hopefully my mistakes are something that benefits you guys as well.
Cause when I say "trust me," I lived it. I lived it.
And I'm sure you guys have as well and you guys can relate.

And it's just positive messaging.
Positive messaging.

All right, guys.
Well, I'm gonna kind of cut it short because it is the intro.
What Message for My Kids is all about, I'm excited.
Then hopefully there's no cloud virus somewhere out there that's just gonna destroy all the work.

All right, guys.
Thanks for tuning in.
Love you, kids.

And right now you guys are at school, so I'll be expecting you guys.
Which I'm assuming right now it's my son texting me off my phone saying that he's on the bus.
He's on the bus home, which I'm excited because we just got some video games that we get to play together.
But another stories another time.

And stay tuned.
Thanks for listening.
